Yoongi scratched a line through the words at the bottom of the page. The rain was still beating a rhythm on the roof of the cabin, but he barely heard it.

His eyes ran up and down the page in something like disbelief.

Everything was done.

He remembered writing this list, or at least the grandfather of this list. He thought there would be no way he could accomplish everything he wanted to accomplish in less than a week, a week with no distractions.

Thus, he’d booked this cabin in the woods and said goodbye to most, but not all, contact with the outside world. He’d downloaded and printed out and hard copied everything he could. He brought a collection of notebooks. Cute ones, serious ones, lined, unlined. He’d said good-bye to basketball games, UFC fights, and a handsome, fashion-forward dance king rapper with a skincare routine so extensive it only rivaled his housecleaning routine.

Yoongi had gone into the woods, alone, not to live deliberately but to get some shit, quite a lot of shit, actually, done.

And, miracle of miracles, he’d done it!

And he still had three more days on the rental.

Now what?

Should he go back to Seoul? Or…?

Yoongi checked the clock.

It was 2 o’clock in the morning. He sent a text and, after throwing his phone on the sofa, went to bed. He’d just closed his eyes when he heard his phone buzz in the other room.

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Yoongi muttered into the darkness as he struggled out of bed and lumbered toward the noise.

And at that very moment, somewhere in Seoul, someone was grinning and singing as he dropped an enormous can of bug spray and a very chic pair of hiking boots into a suitcase.
